It is a sacred right for every Palestinian, and as such it continues to be the top national demand, even after almost 60 years of displacement. It is aright guruanteed to Palestinians by all human rights and international legal conventions; therefore, it cannot be compromised or forcibly waived, neither directly nor indirectly and neither on the individual nor on the collective level, whether by an occupation or an authority in power.Various internationally-recognized legal documents have emphasized the legitimacy of Palestinian refugees' right to return, especially in theUnited Nations General Assembly resolution 194, which since adoption has been reiterated more than 110 times. Despite the continuity of theillegitimate occupation as sustained by force on the ground, this right remains legitimate and necessary.
