1. Warning of a collapse of services in Gaza amid worsening fuel crisis and blockade

The Union of Municipalities of the Gaza Strip warned, in an urgent statement, that the territory is on the verge of entering a phase of “total collapse” in essential municipal services, due to the severe escalation of the fuel crisis, the ongoing blockade, the closure of crossings, and the ban on the entry of spare parts and operational supplies.
The Union explained that the acute shortage of diesel and industrial oils, necessary to operate water wells, sewage treatment plants, power generators, and municipal equipment used to open roads and remove rubble, has led to a rapid paralysis of municipal capacities and the depletion of their already limited resources.
