1. Health: 4 killed in 24 hours, death toll since Gaza ceasefire rises to 1,355

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced that hospitals in the Strip received 4 people killed over the past 24 hours, one of whom succumbed to his injuries, as well as 5 injured people.

The ministry indicated that a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, while ambulance and civil defense teams remain unable to reach them.

It said that the cumulative death toll since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,662 killed and 174,627 injured.

2. Young man killed by occupation forces’ gunfire in Aqraba, south of Nablus; body detained

A young man was killed by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Ministry of Health said that the General Authority for Civil Affairs had informed it of the death of 28-year-old Abdul Karim Muhammad Khader Suleiman, who was shot by the occupation forces this morning in Aqraba, adding that his body was being detained.

3. Israeli settler runs over Palestinian child in Abu Nujaym village, southeast of Bethlehem

An Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian child in the village of Abu Nujaym, southeast of Bethlehem, in the West Bank.

Local sources reported that the settler ran over the child while he was in the village. No information was immediately available regarding the nature of his injuries or his health condition.

4. Rodents attack crops in Gaza and chase farmers inside their agricultural lands

Farmer Sufian Sobeh, 53, is trying to closely monitor his land and crops, as signs of rodents in the early morning have become his greatest concern and a warning that he may lose his tomato crop before harvest time.

Sobeh says the rodents reach the fruits and seedlings, leaving bite marks on them. The damage also extends to various parts of the plants, affecting the quantity of the crop that the farmer has been eagerly awaiting after months of hardship and labor.

5. Occupation forces raid Anata and Shuafat refugee camp, destroy water lines and arrest dozens of Palestinians

Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Anata and Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, imposed a curfew and closed the entrances to the area, amid a large-scale military deployment, raids, arrests and damage to residents’ property. Their bulldozers also began destroying major water lines.

Military vehicles and bulldozers belonging to the occupation forces entered the town and the camp amid a heavy deployment of troops in neighborhoods and streets. The forces announced through loudspeakers on their military vehicles that a curfew had been imposed on residents.

6. Starvation takes a new form in Gaza: less aid and collapsed purchasing power

In the Gaza Strip, securing a meal is no longer a matter of what is available in the markets alone, but also of what aid can reach the Strip and whether families even have the ability to purchase what reaches the market.

Amid shortages of supplies and the collapse of purchasing power, dependence on aid is expanding to include the overwhelming majority of the population.

This picture, presented by Gaza’s Government Media Office in its latest warnings about the food crisis, reveals an extremely fragile humanitarian reality. According to the office, more than 95% of the Strip’s population depends entirely and exclusively on aid, while more than 90% have lost their ability to purchase food.

7. Occupation court rejects request to freeze tender for construction of 1,234 settlement units in E1 plan

The Israeli Central Court in occupied Jerusalem rejected a request to freeze a tender for the construction of 1,234 settlement units in the southern part of the E1 settlement plan, east of occupied Jerusalem.

It also rejected a request to halt procedures related to implementing the plan, in a move that allows the administrative process of the settlement project to continue.

The court considered that the actual start of construction work on the project was still a long way off and that petitions filed against it were likely to be adjudicated before the implementation stage was reached. It nevertheless maintained the possibility of challenging the plan and related procedures before the courts.

10. Berlin asks International Court of Justice to reject Nicaragua’s case over alleged complicity in genocidal war

Germany asked the International Court of Justice in The Hague to reject the lawsuit filed against it by Nicaragua, which accuses Berlin of facilitating the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip by providing military support and arms contracts to Israel.

Germany’s representative, Julia Monar, challenged the court’s jurisdiction to hear the case and its admissibility, claiming that the legal conditions for exercising such jurisdiction “have not been met” and that Nicaragua had not taken the appropriate steps before bringing the case.

11. “Freedom for Palestine” slogan raised at May Day march in Toronto

Large numbers of trade unionists took part in the united Palestinian contingent during Toronto’s annual May Day parade, emphasizing the solidarity of the global labor movement with the Palestinian people’s struggle against the genocidal war.

Participants raised Palestinian flags and carried banners calling for freedom and an end to complicity and military support for Israel. One of the chants that dominated the march was: “United workers will never be defeated.”

12. Volkswagen sells one of its factories to Israeli company to convert it to air-defense equipment production

German automaker Volkswagen announced the sale of its factory in the city of Osnabrück, northwestern Germany, with the aim of converting its entire operation to the production of military and defense equipment.

According to the decision, ownership of the factory will be transferred to Aurelius Capital, based in Tel Aviv, in partnership with the German state of Lower Saxony, which is a major shareholder in Volkswagen.

13. “The Guardian”: Israeli displacement and annexation are moving from rhetoric to implementation

The British newspaper The Guardian warned that Zionist calls to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, expand settlements and annex parts of the occupied West Bank are no longer merely marginal positions expressed by far-right figures. Instead, they are increasingly finding their way into decision-making institutions.

This is happening while the international community continues, in many cases, to limit itself to political condemnation without taking measures commensurate with the seriousness of these statements and policies.

15. Criminal complaint filed in Slovenia against Israeli foreign minister over alleged involvement in genocidal war

The Hind Rajab Foundation, a human rights organization, filed a criminal complaint with the Office of the Public Prosecutor in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana against Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, accusing him of war crimes, acts of genocide and torture against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The complaint is based on an investigation conducted by the organization, which says it established Sa’ar’s direct criminal responsibility for formulating and adopting aggressive policies and targeting vital infrastructure in Gaza. These include the bombing of Kamal Adwan Hospital, the arbitrary arrest and torture of its director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, as well as his role in imposing a siege through starvation and forced displacement.

16. British foreign minister: “Like many others, I feel deeply ashamed of what happened in Gaza”

While announcing British sanctions on Israeli settlement goods in the occupied West Bank, British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband expressed his position on the war in Gaza, saying that, like many others, he feels “ashamed” of the Israeli crimes.

17. Activists in Edinburgh complain against Scottish prosecutors for criminalizing “Freedom for Palestine” chant

Five protesters filed an official complaint with the Scottish prosecution service, objecting to prosecutors’ reliance entirely on the chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” as evidence of racial bias, before the court dropped the case.

Activist Medea Benjamin denounced the interconnectedness of popular struggles around the world against U.S. hegemony, from Palestine and Cuba to Iran.

Benjamin condemned what she described as the U.S. administration’s “upside-down morality,” which continues to spend enormous resources financing wars, weapons and support for Israeli genocide, while American citizens face crises in healthcare and access to basic necessities.

19. Activist confronts Israel supporter in Philadelphia

A video documented a verbal confrontation after an activist questioned and reprimanded a person who had stood near a road for several hours carrying an Israeli flag.

The person filming the video confronted the settler with direct and accusatory questions about whether he was being paid for the act, asking: “How much are they paying you to stand here?… Do you support the killing of children and crimes of genocide?”

20. Zionist organizations target Arab bookstore in Philadelphia

The organization “Stop Antisemitism” launched an incitement campaign against the Mavi bookstore in the Ardmore area of Philadelphia, which is run by activists Nadia Alaoua and her daughter Dima, after it hosted a cultural event sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The Zionist campaign targeted the presence of books in the bookstore that expose the crimes of the occupation and support Palestinian rights, claiming that making such publications available without “counter-narratives” represented what it described as “antisemitism.”

21. U.S. congresswoman: “Tens of thousands of children have been killed in Gaza while American leaders provide aid to Israel”

Former U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized her government for continuing to provide military and material assistance to Israel despite widespread massacres that have resulted in the deaths and injuries of tens of thousands of Palestinian children.

Greene published a post accompanied by an aerial photograph documenting the massive scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip resulting from the genocidal war that has continued since October 2023, asserting that elected U.S. leaders continue to provide financial and military cover for Israel.

22. American student condemns being forced to sing an Israeli song

An American student expressed intense anger and frustration after being forced by the administration of her public school in the United States to perform an Israeli song as part of mandatory school activities.

The student described the measure as a blatant violation of her principles, condemning the imposition of a culture and content that links educational institutions to Israel. She considered it an attempt at forced political indoctrination and moral complicity that, in her view, strikes at the heart of the neutrality of public education and the feelings of students who oppose supporting genocide.

23. 100 Palestinian students punished: How “Israeli” universities pursue opponents of the Gaza war

The Arab legal rights center Adalah in Israel said that Israeli universities had permanently or temporarily expelled 100 Palestinian students over their criticism of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

In a report titled “Apartheid in Israeli Universities and Colleges,” the center explained that it had observed a shift in how Israeli higher-education institutions deal with Palestinian students since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

The report documented the suspension of Palestinian students from their studies and the opening of disciplinary proceedings against them, as well as the classification of some of their posts as “support for terrorism.”
