Disguised as repression forces… Ben Gvir storms a prison to personally oversee torture of detainees

The far-right Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, stormed a prison holding Palestinian detainees, disguised as a guard, with the aim of directly supervising the enforcement of punishments against them and personally overseeing their torture.
Ben Gvir entered the prison wearing a military uniform, accompanied by the head of the prison service, in a move described as retaliatory and aimed at tightening control over prisoners.

Israeli occupation forces prevented citizens from performing prayers on Salah al-Din Street in occupied Jerusalem, while Al-Aqsa Mosque has remained closed for the 28th consecutive day—one of the longest closure periods—amid strict measures preventing worshippers from accessing it.
Local sources reported that forces stormed Salah al-Din Street, giving dozens of citizens and the prayer leader three minutes before dispersing them by force and preventing them from praying, citing “wartime emergency and home front instructions.”

The Israeli Knesset is pushing a bill to execute Palestinian prisoners toward final approval, after the National Security Committee approved its final version on March 24, 2026.
The move reintroduces the death penalty as a direct punitive tool within a prolonged conflict and raises legal and human rights concerns about its broader implications.
The bill passed despite more than 2,000 objections, paving the way for its second and third readings, with clear political backing from Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
