3. The war leaves a lasting wound in Gaza: 71,000 orphans and 64,000 widows
Three years of war in the Gaza Strip have left behind not only the rubble of homes and facilities, but also a deep social wound that has extended into the heart of the Palestinian family, after tens of thousands of people lost their fathers, mothers, children and breadwinners, turning loss from a temporary event into a daily reality weighing heavily on an entire society.
Figures issued by the Ministry of Social Development in Gaza reveal the scale of this transformation: the number of orphaned children has reached approximately 71,846, while the number of widows has reached 64,413 women during the years of war. Meanwhile, the number of households headed and supported financially by women has risen to around 86,000.

These figures come as the third anniversary of the war on the Gaza Strip approaches, showing that the ceasefire has not brought an end to the human losses, as deaths and injuries continue, alongside operations to recover the bodies of those killed from beneath the rubble. The toll is expected to rise as search and recovery operations continue.

In contrast, the organization “Jews Against Occupation 48,” which is organizing the Sydney demonstration under the slogan “Don’t Let Israel Steal History,” said that this day represents the actual beginning of what it described as the most brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide carried out by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government against the Palestinian people, which has resulted in the deaths of around 75,000 Palestinians over three years.

Italian Member of the European Parliament Cecilia Strada said that the indifference of European institutions toward the genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip and the occupation of the West Bank has turned into overt complicity, following a week-long field visit she made to the occupied West Bank.
Strada accused the European Union of pursuing a policy of double standards, comparing it with the imposition of 22 packages of sanctions against Russia, while refraining from taking similarly deterrent measures against the Israeli occupation.

12. London police restrict student march denouncing the genocide in Gaza
The authorities limited the event to just one and a half hours, designating Lincoln Square as the meeting point at 12:30 p.m. The march was to follow a designated route ending at Russell Square, where protesters would be forcibly required to disperse at 2:00 p.m., with face coverings that conceal identity prohibited under threat of arrest.
The restrictions also included a ban on displaying or chanting slogans calling for an intifada or encouraging what authorities described as “unlawful extremism.” Meanwhile, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police James Harman confirmed that there was no legal basis for banning the protest altogether because the criteria for uncontrollable public disorder had not been met, despite pressure from pro-occupation activists who called for its cancellation.

The action was carried out to disrupt the arming of what the text describes as the “Zionist genocidal regime.” The factory is considered a strategic facility responsible for manufacturing the rear fuselage structure of all F-35 warplanes without exception.
