About four months after the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect, Palestinian farmers returned to lands that have lost their agricultural features, transformed from green fields into areas covered with ash and debris.

Direct losses are estimated in the billions of dollars, including the destruction of hundreds of agricultural wells and thousands of greenhouses. Restoring production will require many years, especially with soil contamination from explosive remnants and chemicals.
