UNICEF stated that thousands of children in the Gaza Strip face imminent risk of death, noting that the Israeli war over the past two years has left “devastating and unprecedented effects” on children’s health and psychological security, due to the collapse of the healthcare system and hospitals’ inability to provide necessary treatment.
In press statements, Ingram said the number of children killed or injured since the beginning of the war is “beyond description,” noting that dozens of children were being killed daily and thousands more were left with permanent disabilities, including hundreds who underwent amputations or major surgeries. She added that these children require psychological and medical care for months or possibly years, at a time when only half of Gaza’s hospitals are partially functioning.

She added that the genocide continues due to Israel’s violations of the ceasefire agreement and its restrictions on humanitarian aid.

**8. Call to sign a petition condemning the detention of Palestine Action activists**

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign urged the public to send an urgent message to UK Members of Parliament and support Early Day Motion 2386, after at least seven prisoners linked to Palestine Action began a hunger strike to protest oppressive and inhumane detention conditions in British prisons.
The campaign explained that the health of these prisoners is rapidly deteriorating and that urgent intervention is necessary to ensure their rights and safety.
The detainees are facing prosecution for acting to prevent the Israeli arms manufacturer “Elbit” from shipping weapons to the occupying entity—arms used to commit widespread violations against the Palestinian people.
MP John McDonnell submitted the motion to the Minister of Justice, calling for improved prison conditions and the protection of basic rights. The campaign urges citizens to take just two minutes to email their MPs, sign the petition, and demand justice for Palestinians and the hunger-striking prisoners.
