**5. Settlement Escalation Targeting Bedouin Communities East of Jerusalem**

Bedouin communities around occupied Jerusalem are facing a systematic escalation as part of policies aimed at displacing indigenous residents and undermining their stability on their land, amid warnings of a plan to redraw the demographic map of the area.

Israeli authorities have intensified restrictive measures against these communities by confiscating large areas of land, imposing strict building restrictions, issuing notices, and demolishing homes and residential structures, exacerbating the suffering of Bedouin families and increasing their humanitarian and living vulnerability.

Observers say these policies are part of a broader plan to reduce Bedouin presence around Jerusalem and impose a new settlement reality through settlement expansion and connecting them with bypass roads, reinforcing Israeli control over the area and separating Palestinian communities from one another.
